Facts about massage for the first time client.

These are basic facts that not only pertain to
Relax a moment massage but to all massages.

Modesty: In a typical massage session, except for the body
part being worked, you will be covered with a sheet and
blanket. You may undress to
your level of comfort.

Lotions: We will use a massage lotion (except chair
massages) so that we may work on your muscles and skin
without chaffing or pulling your hair. Please inform us if there
is any danger of an allergic reaction.

Talking: Keeping conversation to a minimum is best for the
most relaxing environment. But, if you prefer a more social
interaction that is fine too.
Always give the therapist
feedback on anything that causes discomfort
.

Body parts massaged: In a typical one hour massage you
will have your face, neck, shoulders, arms, legs and feet
done while you are laying face up. While face down we will
massage your feet, legs, back, shoulders, neck and head.
The time spent on each area and the order of them being
done will vary according to the clients needs.

Pressure of touch: You decide! Inform the therapist before
he/she starts what type of pressure you would like. The
therapist will check in with you several times to ask if the
pressure is ok. Please tell him/her to adjust their pressure
as you see fit. A massage is about catering to the client for an
hour so, if its too much or not enough  pressure, please tell
us.

Missed appointments: Please give 24 hours notice if you
must cancel an appointment.

Afterwards: Drink plenty of water to help remove waste
products flushed out during massage. Some soreness may
be expected (similar to soreness experienced after
exercising).
